Media24 has launched a new weekly tabloid newspaper directed at the Afrikaans market in the Western Cape. Edited by Ingo Capraro, the Kaapse Son has an initial print run of 65 000, to be adjusted to 20 000 after the first two weeks, and will sell for R2,00. According to national sales manager Christo Brits, the new paper will be "unashamedly sensational" and focus on "skindernuus".
