NSPCA calls for stop to live export

Two "consignments" of animals recently departed for Mauritius on the Holstein Express and so the cruel export of live animals for slaughter from South Africa continues. On 3 July 2,473 cattle were on board the vessel when it set sail from the port of East London and by 17 July an estimated 2,229 cattle were on board plus 743 sheep and goats. According to expert evidence in the NSPCA's possession, they will suffer during the trip and the manner of their deaths at the destination is questionable.
