Tripp Lite, Westcon SA re-inforce partnership

Tripp Lite, a manufacturer of power protection and infrastructure equipment, has reinforced its strategic partnership with Westcon SA, an ICT distributor in South Africa, with the signing of Critical Application Partner (CAP) service contracts for its region.

The move is part of Tripp Lite's continuing efforts to position itself in the rapidly developing IT markets of South Africa, while also establishing itself as a leading brand offering integrated solutions for data centre and corporate IT environments.

In terms of the CAP contract Westcon SA will offer services that include installations, on-site warranty service calls and preventive maintenance services for the entire Tripp Lite product range. CAP centres are also responsible for the start-up services of all Tripp Lite products.

"The signing of the new service contracts brings a fitting start to our strategic partnership with Westcon SA," said Vipin Sharma, vice president, Middle East, Africa and CIS Sales of Tripp Lite. "The opening of a key service centre in South Africa gives our customers the confidence and assurance of being able to call and ask for help in the event of a failure or emergency situation. This partnership gives us the advantage of being able to leverage our effective and reliable power protection solutions across new as well as existing market segments".

"Our partnership with Tripp Lite has taken a major step forward with the signing of a new service contract with our services division Westcon Works," says said Jacques Malherbe, CEO of Westcon SA. "The setting up of key service centre in South Africa not only demonstrates the strength of our relationship with Tripp Lite, but also reflects our common commitment towards providing our Reseller Partners with customer and technical support."
