Now in its fourth year, One Young World is the premier global forum for young people of leadership calibre. Described by CNN as the 'junior Davos', One Young World stages an annual summit to gather 1,300 future leaders under the age of 30 from over 180 countries, and for the first time will take place in Africa.

During the Summit, the young delegates are given a platform alongside global figures and inspiring revolutionary leaders who both listen to and highlight their messages to their own governments and decision makers. The key to One Young World is that each delegate, or 'ambassador', will action real change in their own country and some of the individual stories emerging from both the summit itself and the initiatives that delegates are involved in year-round are inspiring.

The key areas of focus will include:

  • Education
  • Global Business
  • Health
  • Human Rights
  • Leadership and Governance
  • Sustainable Development
  • Transparency and Integrity

The 2013 Counsellors include: Kofi Annan, former UN Secretary General; Bob Geldof, activist and musician; Boris Becker, former tennis World No.1; Arianna Huffington, founder, Huffington Post; Antony Jenkins, Global Chief Executive, Barclays; Francois Pienaar, former South Africa rugby union captain; Fatima Bhutto, author; Ahmed Kathrada, former political advisor to President Mandela; Ron Garan, astronaut; Lily Cole, model and actress; Paul Polman, Global CEO, Unilever; Natalia Voidanova, model and philanthropist; and Muhammad Yunus, founder of Grameen Bank and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate.
