The new office is tasked with marketing and promoting Rosatom's nuclear technology in the local market, says ESI-Africa. It will also strive to develop relationships with potential customers, partners, and regulators, as well as with the country's business and scientific communities.
According to ESI-Africa, South Africa plans a large-scale development of national nuclear energy in the long term, aiming to increase nuclear energy's share in the country's power generation balance to 25% by 2030.
