First Bittereinder national tour

Bittereinder, the Pretoria-based Afrikaans hip hop group that shot to fame with the launch of their debut album, "'n Ware Verhaal" last year, have announced that they will be embarking on a national tour in February, March and April, 2011.

The group consists of poet and lead singer, Jaco van der Merwe, producer, Peach van Pletzen (Van Coke Kartel, Yesterday's Pupil) and visual artist, Louis Minnaar.

The maiden tour will take the trio through the festival circuit, to the heartland and back, and will feature artists like Tumi Molekane (Tumi and the Volume) and Inge Beckmann (Lark).

Tour dates

* 25 February: Hotbox, Pretoria. Entrance R50. Opening act: Fulka. Bittereinder will perform live on stage for the first time with Tumi Molekane (Tumi and the Volume) & Richard Brokensha (Isochronous & Kidofdoom). This is the official "'n Ware Verhaal" album launch.

* 5 to 6 March: Ramfest, Cape Town (Main Stage) at Nekkies, Worcester. With special guest singer/artist Inge Beckmann (Lark) and collaborations with Tumi Molekane (Tumi and the Volume), Richard Brokensha (Isochronous & kidofdoom) and many more. Tickets available online and at outlets.

* 9 March: Klein Libertas Teater at Woordfees in Stellenbosch. With Inge Beckmann (Lark) and Richard Brokensha (Isochronous & kidofdoom), plus a full set by Tumi Molekane backed by Yesterday's Pupil and Isochronous.

* 12 March: Ramfest, Johannesburg. Bittereinder set in the Electronic Pyramid at 5pm.

* 27 March:Live lunchtime performance at Park Acoustic at the Botanical Gardens in Pretoria, with many guest artists including Tumi & Richard.

* 7 April: Studio 1 appearance on MK music channel on DStv.
