The forum will host XTALKS, regular events featuring carefully selected top industry professionals from around the country who will present on relevant topics and case studies. Members will be kept informed of the latest trends and have access to case studies of some of the best marketing campaigns in the world.
The speaker for the first XTALK, taking place on 26 July 2011 is Justin Spratt, CEO of digital agency Quirk. He has a BCom in Economics with Honours in Finance and an MBA in Strategy and Finance. He is the co-founder of ISLabs and GeekRetreat. Spratt will deliver his talk on 'Social Media and the new Digital Frontier'.
Currently the forum's board members include Neil Hart - MD of Boomtown Strategic Brand Agency, Pieter Swart - director of Marketing and Corporate Relations at NMMU, Dave Tiltmann - MD of Algoa FM, Jane Stevenson - owner of Jane Stevenson & Associates and Reza Ebrahim - dealer principal, East Cape Fiat and Alfa Romeo.
These innovative minds will join together to ensure that the forum continues to grow marketing and bring together insightful marketing minds in the Eastern Cape.
Hart said, "The idea for the forum came about at the Eastern Cape's first marketing communications symposium held in 2010. A need was identified in the industry whereby insightful marketing minds needed a platform to share their ideas and learn from the experts, thus MXF was created with the intention of growing marketing and marketers."
