The Khuza Awards - Young South Africa gets excited by communication

There are more South Africans under 22 than over it. It's time to recognise and award communication that succeeds in addressing this market. The word 'khuza' means to applaud or to cheer, and that's what the Khuza Awards is all about: recognizing excellence in youth marketing initiatives.

Amongst the global debate, the responsibility of marketing ethically and responsibly to this target market lies in the hands of marketers and their agencies alike, so perhaps the alternate meaning of 'khuza', to warn, is also appropriate to these awards. . The Khuza Awards invites marketers to enter campaigns directed at this market which will be judged by a panel of industry experts but also, and perhaps more importantly, by members of the target market themselves, making this a truly unique award.

The Khuza Awards has been initiated and organised by several leading South African organisations to honour the work being done in the youth market that is often overlooked by the industry. The founding patrons are Marketing Mix, Hot Dogz Inc and Digerati.

The intention is that the Khuza Awards will become an annual event that will grow from strength to strength as each year passes. Help us to support the youth marketing industry and enter your work for the 2004 awards.

Prizes

Winners of the Khuza Awards will be announced in all five categories, at the judges' discretion.

In keeping with other major local and international awards festivals, there are no cash prizes, but all winners will receive:

Awards event

The winners of the Khuza Awards will be published in the June/July edition of Marketing Mix.
