Volunteers needed for NxtGen Coders Coding Camp

This five day workshop aims to continue the efforts of the recent NxtGen Coders Conference. The workshop takes place from 1-5 December at the Trafalgar High School in Cape Town.

Event organiser Mapaseka Dipale says the success of the initiative depends on volunteers who can set aside 4 hours on one specific day to focus on either mobile application development, game development or Arduino. "We need the help of three volunteers per day."

40 Grade 9-11 learners will be given the opportunity to learn more about coding. The students are winners and runners-up of competitions hosted during the NxtGen Coders Conference, which took place in October this year at the Cape Town Stadium. The NxtGen Coders Coding Camp will focus on equipping learners with knowledge and tools that they can use, to help solve community problems. The event is sponsored by Sonic Wireless, African Ideas and Cornastone.

The camp takes place each day from 9:30am to 3:30pm. Developers who want to contribute and inspire future developers can contact Mapaseka at moc.acirfahtuosphp@akesapam
