Best Projects 2013 open for entries

Entries are now open for the 2013 Construction World Best Projects Awards (BPA), which aims to showcase excellence in the South African building, civil engineering and professional services sectors.
In 2012 the Alexander Forbes Head Office (115 West Street), entered by the WBHO/Tiber Joint Venture, was a multiple Best Projects Awards winner – in the ‘Building Contractor’ and ‘AfriSam Award for Sustainable Building’ categories. It is now a landmark in the Sandton CBD.

The aim of Construction World's BPA is to recognise projects across the entire construction industry, ensuring that these projects (and the people who made them a success) are recognised by a wider audience than simply the entrants' own institutions. The awards are therefore judged independently.

In their 12 years of existence, these awards have grown exponentially both in terms of number of entries and in the variety of projects that enter - among the upwards of 60 entries BPA now receives are entries from civil engineers, building contractors, specialist contractors, suppliers of specialised products, consulting engineers, architects, landscape architects, quantity surveyors, and project managers.

    Categories:

    1. Civil Engineering Contractors
    2. Building Contractors
    3. Civil Engineering and Building Contractors outside South Africa (but done by South African companies)
    4. Specialist Contractors or Suppliers
    5. Professional Services
    6. Public Private Partnerships
    7. AfriSam Innovation Award for Sustainable Construction

As evident from winning projects in the past, the value of projects does necessarily improve the chance of winning a 'Best Projects award' - excellence and innovation are determining factors.

Entry is free. Closing date for entries is Friday, 6 September 2013 with the awards function on 29 October 2013 in Johannesburg.

The main sponsor of the Awards is AfriSam.
