ANC: 'What we have here is a failure to communicate'*

NEWSWATCH: Business Day's political editor Sam Mkokeli reckons that when it comes to communication, the ANC 'get an F', and seemingly reinforcing that impression, Manyi, our main mouthpiece man, seems to believe that no news is good news, reports Times Live, which, on a happier note, has announced that it's giving itself a makeover.

  • Business Day: Geriatric ANC fails to get its message across... Verily, our governing party, that doth believe it shall rule unto the return of Jesus, needs to get into the 21st century and learn to communicate - and understand communication and how it works. Apparently it's miffed over what it sees as media bias in reportage following the local elections last week. Come on now, guys... Don't shoot the messenger, and please get with the programme.

  • Times Live: Manyi clashes with parliamentary reporters... If there's one person you expect to know what to communicate and how to communicate it, it's our main media man... in this case, Jimmy Manyi, but he apparently irritated parliamentary reporters when, displaying a remarkable lack of the gift of gab, he managed - twice - only a two-sentence statement on the Cabinet's view on the possibility of Trevor Manuel's chances of taking the top post in the IMF. In not wishing to "put words into the Cabinet's mouth", however, he seems to have put precious few into his own as well. So that's another 'F' then?

  • Times live: Coming soon...Times Live's fresh new look... Heavens alive... A new look for Times Live. So? What do you think of the new look?
