Vuka! Awards 2002 Finalists: Professional and Newcomer Categories

MultiChoice Africa is proud to announce the finalists, professional and newcomer category, for the MultiChoice VUKA! Awards 2002.

From 63 professional entries, 24 were chosen as finalists; and from 111 newcomer entries, 35 were chosen as finalists. These entries will be flighted, free, on selected DStv channels during the course of 2002 and 2003.

The first-round judging panel for the professional entrants comprised: Nontobeko Rosemary Jacobs, director, Umtha Strategy, Planning and Development; Michael Brierley, Director of Photography/Cinematographer (SASC); Kim Geldenhys, Director, Egg Films; Lara Hollis, Senior Visual Effects Artist, The Refinery; Andrew Ford, Musical Director, The Nuthouse; Kingsley Potter, Client Service Director, Herdbuoys McCann Erickson; Riccardo Capecchi, Animation Director, Capechino Animation.

The first-round judging panel for the newcomer entrants comprised: Composer Alun Richards of Cut and Paste Generation; Sabrina O¹Sullivan, Editor at Sabrina Sullivan Post Productions; Buhle Dlamini, The Salvation Army Corporate Trust and Foundations Liaison, Community Relations and Development Department; Tshendo Motlhala, freelance consulting creative director; Paul Michaelson, cinematographer; Ancilla Berry, graphic designer, animator at The Video Lab; and Teboho Mahlatsi, director of the 13-part series Yizo Yizo.
