Media focus on ANC leadership race

NEWSWATCH: IOL this week launched a special page covering the African National Congress leadership race, according to its editorial blog, Inside IOL. Meanwhile, Business Day reports that tonight's two-hour radio interview with president Thabo Mbeki – on 15 SABC radio stations – has sparked outraged, with accusations of bias.

Prof Anton Harber also takes a critical look at assessing how well the media has been covering and predicting the succession race so far in Business Day today, Wednesday, 5 December.

Lastly, SANEF has condemned the alleged arrest of Radio Islam journalist Azhar Vadi by police on Tuesday, 4 December 2007, while he was reporting on a car accident in Lenasia, Johannesburg and is calling for an investigation. The police report no knowledge of the arrest.
